I love farmer’s markets. They’re great places to get fresh, local produce that is usually free of a lot of wasteful plastic packaging that characterizes your average grocery store. After a couple weeks of not being able to go to the farmer’s market, I finally went today. I got a lot of good stuff, so I decided to add another post to my farmer’s market series. Here’s what I got today:
- Cauliflower (For lentil dal)
- Cabbage (For homemade sauerkraut)
- Bell pepper (For bell pepper leek quiche)
- Figs
- Italian heirloom onions
- Persimmons
- Broccolini
- Yellow zucchini (For ratatouille)
- Avocados
- Heirloom cucumbers
- Basil (For homemade pesto)
- Garlic
- Watermelon
- Apples
- Heirloom tomatoes
- Thompson grapes
